Foxes day out socks

You might not be able to resist knitting and wearing these fun fox socks in a forest near you! The Fox´s day out socks were inspired by a walk in the pine forests in Switzerland. My daughter was concerned that a fox might jump out on us. After explaining that foxes tend to sleep in the day and are probably a lot more terrified of us, we still had to finish the walk while singing very loudly to scare any of them away. I was inspired to capture this memory and possibly help change my daughter´s opinion of these forest creatures with a pair of cozy socks. This sock pattern was made in collaboration with Aya Fibers. These socks are knit from the top down, starting with a ribbed cuff and followed by a colourwork pattern consisting of little pine trees and foxes. The pattern continues with an easy to knit ´lice´ detail throughout the leg and foot. The heel is constructed as a short row (boomerang) heel and the rounded toe is completed with kitchener stitch. This sock uses 3 different colours. This pattern is written for magic loop method but can be easily knit with dpn´s or 9” circulars. **SIZES** 1, (2,) 3 Recommended ease: Approx. 2.5cm / 1 inches of negative ease. Foot circumference: Sizes: Size 1 – Foot circumference 18 – 20 cm / 7.5” (approx.) Size 2 – Foot circumference 20.5 – 23 cm / 8.5” (approx.) Size 3 – Foot circumference 23.5 – 25 cm / 9.5” (approx.) (More sizes can be achieved by going up or down a needle size) Foot circumference is the measurement from around the widest part of your foot, usually the ball of your foot near your toes. **GAUGE** 36 sts x 38 rnds = 10cm / 4 inches for colourwork chart A. 38 sts x 44 rnds = 10cm / 4 inches for stockinette, ribbing and colourwork chart B. **MATERIALS** Sock yarn by Aya Fibers, Germany.
