Feldmark

Like freshly harvested fields: The stripes of a pretty self-striping yarn in “Feldmark” (it roughly means “fields in a rural area” in German) remind me of the surroundings of my village here in the very North of Germany. They look really cool in the special construction of the shawl that features changes in the direction of knitting. Everything comes together seamlessly, of course, and is super-easy to knit. It is long and narrow and perfect for wrapping around several times. I love the yarn “Edition 3” by Schoppel (a sportweight) for this project, as it is super soft and squishy and makes a very cozy little shawl. As gauge is not really important for this one, you can choose other gradient yarns in a different weight if you wish. The patten was first published in a German knitting Magazine in July 2021. It was published in English as a single pdf download in November 2021. Yarn of first Sample: Schoppel Edition 3, 150 g (3 balls), colorway Taupunkt (available [here][1]). The yarn used in the second sample is Opal Pullover- und Sockenwolle 6-fach 150g, Kollektion Paradise Color No. 11022 "Regenbogen des Vertrauens" Measurements of sample out of "Edition 3": Length 168 cm / 67 inches Depth 31 cm / 12.5 inches •••• Wie die Spuren in frisch abgeernteten Feldern wirken die Streifen in „Feldmark“, die durch den hübschen Farbverlauf des Garns entstehen und durch die besondere Konstruktion dieses Tuches betont werden. „Feldmark“ ist sehr einfach zu stricken, ist lang und schmal und lässt sich prima mehrfach um den Hals wickeln. Das Garn „Edition 3“ von Schoppel passt besonders gut dazu, weil es superweich ist und mit 300 Metern Lauflänge je 100 g ein schön kuscheliges Tuch ergibt. „Feldmark“ lässt sich aber auch aus anderen Garnen mit anderen Lauflängen stricken.
