Forest Fruit

Pinecones, needles, acorns, samaras, chestnuts, and blossoms. The trees of our forests produce so many curious and delightful shapes, it gets our hearts all a-flutter! The Forest Fruit socks pay homage to nature’s inspiring natural objects, with flora-esque colourwork motifs **SIZE** One size (adjustable with gauge change) **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** Ankle circumference: 20.5 cm/ 8 inches Leg length: 12.5 cm/ 5 inches **MATERIALS** **Yarn**: 1 skein of 4 ply Sock yarn/ fingering weight yarn (approx 400 m/ 437 yds - 100 g) [MC} AND Small amount of contrasting colour 4 ply Sock yarn/ fingering weight yarn (approx 70 meters/ 77 yards - 20g ) [CC] **I used**: Socknado by Ancient Arts (Fingering weight/ 4 ply - 80% Superwash Fine Merino wool, 20% nylon, 350 meters/ 385 yards - 100 g) in Le Chat Noir [MC] AND Creme de la Creme [CC] **Needles**: 2.25 mm/ US 1 double pointed needles (set of 5) **Notions**: Removable stitch marker (optional), tapestry needle **GAUGE** 36 sts and 48 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) over Stockinette Stitch, after blocking. Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge. **NOTES** Socks are knitted in the round from the cuff down using double pointed needles (DPNs). **Sizing**: Unfortunately, due to the amount of stitches inone repeat of the chart pattern, I could not easily grade this pattern for more sizes. A solution to change the size of the pattern is to change the stitch gauge by using a different needle size. For a larger circumference, use a larger needle size than the recommended size, and for a smaller circumference use a smaller needle size.
