Astrid's Tree of Life blanket

The tree of life, tree of knowledge or Yggdrasil, is present in many different religions and cultures. Here in Scandinavia, it represents an immense mythical tree that plays a central role in Norse cosmology, where it connects the Nine Worlds. I admit I am not a believer, but when I was looking for a round motif for a blanket, this one fell into place very nicely. Regardless, a tree can always be just a tree. My finished blanket measures 190cm wide x 220cm long.
