The Four-Generation Shawl

**Summary:** Ingeniously designed shawl has double thickness around shoulders and lacier single thickness fabric around arms and back. Design has been made and worn by four generations of the author's family. **Gauge:** 1 shell repeat of (2 double crochet, chain 1) two times = 1" wide and 5/8" high. **Fiber requirements:** 1 pound 75% kid mohair / 25% fine wool roving. **Yarn requirements:** 14 oz. 2-ply with 5-6 twists per inch, measuring 12-13 wraps per inch and 850 yards per pound.
