Knus for kids

**“Knus” – Hug. To hug and wrap your kid in something warm and cozy.** A round yoke sweater for toddlers and kids in 5 sizes. It is worked with different sets of rib patterns at the yoke and broken rib at the body and sleeves. **Notes:** A round yoke sweater worked from the top down with the possibility to adjust the length of the sleeves and the body. The sweater has deep armscyes for easy wearing with a T-shirt underneath and it has a short body length. See all the measurements before you decide a size. The work starts with rib at the neck and afterward short rows for a lowered neckline at the front. The increases create a rounded yoke. After finishing the yoke, the sleeves are separated on waste yarn, and the body is worked from the armholes to hem and then a rib is worked before bind off. The sleeves are worked one at a time by putting the stitches back from waste yarn to the working needles and worked in rounds with decreases to the cuffs. The cuffs are worked in rib before bind off. **Yarn:** 370/404 (450/492, 525/574, 600/656, 700/765) m/yd Fino Organic Wool + Nettles by Onion, DK, 70% organic wool 30% nettle fibers, 130m/142yd per 50g/1.75oz OR Cotton Merino by Drops, DK, 50% merino wool, 50% cotton, 110m/120yd per 50g/1.75oz OR work a less dense sweater: Olines cotton by Garnudsalg, fingering, 100% cotton, 170m/186 yd per 50g/1.75oz Please keep in mind that yardage is an estimate. **Gauge:** 10cm x 10cm/4” x 4”: 21 sts over 30 rows/rnds in broken rib pattern and needle 4.0mm/US 6, or the size needed to obtain gauge after blocking. **The finished measurement of the sweater for sizes 1 (2, 3, 5, 7) years:** Chest: 55 (61, 66, 71, 74) cm/21.75 (24, 26, 28, 29)” Yoke depth, measured after rib at the center front down: 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) cm/4.75 (5.25, 5.5, 6, 6.25)” Upper arm circumference: 23 (25, 26.6, 28.5, 29.5) cm/9 (9.75, 10.5, 11.25, 11.5)" Sleeve length: 17 (20, 25, 28, 31) cm/6.75 (7.75, 9.75, 11, 12.25)” Body length, measured from underarm: 16 (17, 20, 23, 27) cm/6.25 (6.75, 7.75, 9, 10.5)” Total length, including short rows but without neck rib: 30 (33, 38, 42, 46) cm/11.75 (13, 15, 16.5, 18)” A big thank you to linautena for inspiring me to work a kids version of the sweater **knus** Thank you so much to my testknitters and to Susan Hislop for technical editing.
