Socks with teeth
The Sprocket Socks are a fun way to combine yarns to create kicky stripey socks. Slipped stitches create the sprocket “teeth” colourwork, and are a fun and easy way to change colours while adding some interesting detail to the pattern. This is the perfect sock for using with a 5-colour mini skein set, or to scrap bust those tiny bits of beautiful leftover yarn. Knit in the round from the cuff to the toe, these fun socks will fly off your needles in no time.
**Needles and Notions**
US1 / 2.25 mm 9” circular knitting needles; or 32” circular knitting needles; or double pointed knitting needles, for working small sock circumference in the round in your prefered method, or size to obtain gauge.
**Yarn and Yardage**
This pattern uses five 20 gram mini skeins, which will be enough to knit any size. Don’t feel limited by only mini skeins though, as this is a perfect scrap busting project. You really don’t need to follow any sort of striping pattern if you don’t want to, and who even said socks need to match?!
Each stripe on the sock uses approximately 2-3 g of fingering weight yarn.
**Finished Measurements**
Finished sock circumference is 7 (8, 9)” / 18 (20, 23) cm, to be work with approximately 1” / 2.5 cm negative ease.
