Favorite Cable Hat

Each autumn/winter season I try to design new cold weather accessories. Each time I try to solve some issues you might have with crochet hats – too stiff, too thick or opposite, too lacy or not stretchy enough and etc. But this hat is absolutely perfect – the texture is very soft, but thick at the same time, cables add wonderful texture and perfect shape, brim can be made in one layer or double, depends what fits you better. Bonus – it is great for girls and boys! **Skill level:** easy/intermediate **Size and measurements** Baby (up to 38cm or 15”) Toddler (up to 45cm or 18") Child (up to 50cm or 20”) Teen/Adult (up to 56cm or 22”) **Materials:** • any DK weight yarn, approx. 120 (190, 240, 276)m or 130 (210, 262, 300) yards for hat with one layer brim or 145 (215, 275, 310) m or 160 (235, 300, 340) y for hat with double layer brim **Suggested yarn:** Katia Merino Classic, shade 11, 100g - 240m/262y, 52% Virgin Wool / 48% Acrylic • crochet hook 3.5mm or size needed to obtain gauge **Gauge:** 17sts and 12rows in BPdc to measure 10x10cm or 4x4in using 3.5mm hook, or size required to obtain the gauge **Stitches and abbreviations:** st(s) – stitch(es) ch – chain stitch sc – single crochet dc – double crochet tr – treble crochet sp - space sl st – slip stitch WS – wrong side RS – right side yo – yarn over ALL MY PATTERNS ARE WRITTEN IN STANDARD AMERICAN TERMS!
