Finding Your Way Cowl

Originally published in Knotions Magazine The Finding Your Way Cowl is inspired by labyrinth gardens. As a child I loved to get lost in those gardens, trying to find my way to the center. Usually, a lookout tower nestled in there, made it all worth it. Breathtaking views over the hedges and another chance to puzzle my route back out. If you like sets, you can combine this cowl with the Finding Your Way Mittens which are available in my [Ravelry][1] and [Etsy][2] shops. **Gauge:** With 4mm hook: 17 sts and 15 rows = 4" [10cm] before blocking 16 sts and 15 rows = 4" [10cm] after blocking **Yarn:** Phildar Partner 3.5 (25% wool, 25% acrylic, 50% polyamide; 164 yds ([150 m]/55 g): Bordeaux 316 (MC), 2 skeins – Note that the original only used 5 grams (approx. 17 yards) of the second skein Thirteen contrasting colours of sport weight (12 wpi) yarn, a total of 164 yds ([150 m]/55 g) (C1C13), 14yds per colour ([12.5 m]/5g) each. Leftovers from other projects are great for these contrasting colours. Other recommended yarns for this pattern can be Scheepjes Softfun, Scheepjes Colour Crafter and Baby Bee Sweet Delight. This list is by no means exhaustive, only meant to give some ideas. Many Sport and DK weight yarns lend themselves to make this pattern. **Stitches:** Ch – chain Ss – slip stitch Sc – single crochet Mdc – mosaic double crochet (see special stitches) Sc2tog – single crochet two together (see special stitches) **Size:** 24” [61 cm] circumference and 11” [28 cm] high. **Pattern includes:** Written pattern, special stitches explanations, pattern charts, size scheme, colour scheme and pattern notes and explanations. **Difficulty:** Intermediate/Advanced.
