**Dance on the Breeze** is a classic blanket pattern featuring a simple 4-row repeat stitch pattern framed by a seed stitch border. Easy to knit for a confident knitter, this design works beautifully as an heirloom-quality baby blanket or an attractive throw. Choose a smooth, solid-color worsted or Aran #4 weight yarn to highlight the stitch texture. *"Let's Go Fly a Kite" is one of many cheerful songs in my favorite movie...Mary Poppins. The song is a wonderful reminder to take time to get outside and have fun on a beautiful day: have a picnic in the park, go for a walk in a scenic place, take a bike ride...or go fly a kite!  It doesn't have to be an expensive outing to make wonderful memories. "You can dance on the breeze...over houses and trees...with your fist holding tight...to the string of your kite." * **DIRECTIONS FOR SIX BLANKET SIZES:** Approximate sizes after blocking… Baby Blanket: 27.5” wide x 31” long Small Blanket: 31.5” wide x 36” long Medium Blanket: 35.5” wide x 40” long Large Throw: 39” wide x 45” long XL Throw: 43” wide x 51” long XXL Afghan: 53” wide x 60” long Finished size may vary depending on yarn weight and gauge used. Any of the sizes may be made longer by adding pattern repeats. Each pattern repeat adds about .67” to the length of the blanket. Pattern includes estimates for additional yardage needed to make each size longer. > Buy 3 or more of my patterns at the same time and receive 15% off your order. No coupon code. The pattern will work nicely with a smooth, solid color yarn that has good stitch definition. I used Blue Sky Fibers 'Sweater' yarn in the ‘Splash’ colorway. This lovely yarn is a blend of superwash wool and organic cotton. The pattern may also be used with slightly lighter or heavier weight yarns. Select the needle size that gives the best appearance for your yarn. Finished size and amount of yarn needed may vary depending on yarn choice and gauge….so buy extra yarn just in case! If you prefer Super Bulky weight yarn…please see my [Winter Dance blanket pattern.][1] **GAUGE:** Stockinette stitch with US size 8 needles: approximately 16 stitches & 23 rows = 4” Exact gauge is not essential. I used US size 8 knitting needles…but choose the needle size that gives the best appearance with your yarn and your knitting tension. Significantly different gauge may require more yarn. **KNITTING NEEDLES:** Blanket knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on circular knitting needles in order to accommodate the large number of stitches. **SKILL LEVEL:** Easy for a confident knitter You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, read a row by row knitting pattern, bind off stitches and weave in ends. Blocking of finished knitting is highly recommended. This pattern uses standard U.S. knitting terms. Written pattern with row by row instructions. [1]: http://bit.ly/WinterDanceBlanket
