It is a clever combination of vintage design and more modern use of stocking and garter stitch, creating a timeless romper. There are instructions for two different stitch patterns for the central panel – chevrons and diamonds – which are easily integrated into the instructions. The romper is knitted bottom up and features a three-button fastening at the crotch and over the shoulder straps with button fastenings at the front. P A T T E R N / D E T A I L S + 4 sizes included: 3 months, 6 months, 12 months & 18 months. + Skill level: Confident beginner. + Yarn weight: DK. + Yarn amounts: Approximately 190 m - 280 m / 210 yds - 310 yds depending on chosen size. + Tension: Stocking stitch - 22 stitches & 28 rows over 10 cm x 10 cm / 4 ″ x 4″. + Construction: Worked flat in two pieces, seamed together. Leg & bib borders are worked within the main romper instructions. + Techniques used: Garter stitch, stocking stitch, short rows, eyelet buttonholes, increases, decreases, following instructions for stitch pattern panel alongside knitting the romper.
