Written using US crochet terms, with a conversion chart to help with converting into UK terms. This is a crochet pattern to make a 2 colour spiral design coaster. These coasters can be made in any colour combinations. I have chosen bright colours for a candy swirl effect, making fun, vibrant, summertime coasters. These coasters only use a small amount of yarn, approximately 5g or 9yds of each colour. Making them a great scrap yarn project. They are quick and easy to crochet, which makes them perfect as craft stall fillers or last minute gifts! 
I recommend using cotton yarn, for greater absorbency. I have used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream yarn and a 4.5mm hook. My finished coasters measure approximately 9.5cm/3.75” in diameter. Exact gauge isn’t important. Just try to keep your stitches fairly compact to minimise gaps and maximise absorbency. You will need: Aran/Worsted weight Cotton yarn in 2 colours - approx. 5g/9yds of each colour, 4.5mm crochet hook, Yarn needle, Scissors.
