**Designed in Dublin, Ireland.** Rising above the rolling landscape of Co. Wicklow, Ireland, Keadeen Mountain is steeped in folklore. Among the many tales preserved in The Schools' Collection—a remarkable archive of Irish folklore gathered by schoolchildren during the 1930s—are stories of people who encountered the fairy folk and found themselves mysteriously led astray upon the mountain. The Keadeen Scarf draws inspiration from these stories. Within this pattern, the cable represents the paths that the people in these stories found themselves on. As the scarf progresses, the cable crosses over itself in repeating waves, symbolising the change of path, confusion and disorientation experienced by those caught under the fairies' spell, where every turn seems to lead further from home. Surrounding the cable, the richly textured blackberry stitch evokes the dense brambles that are found in rural Ireland. Together, the twisting cable and textured panels create a landscape that is both beautiful and mysterious—a journey through tangled paths where folklore and nature intertwine. This pattern is designed to be knit flat and constructed by working panels of pattern. The scarf is composed of 3 panels of cable surrounded by panels of blackberry stitch. Additionally, there is a slip-stitch edge for a neat finish. **Materials** 5mm Needles Cable Needle (5mm or Smaller) 320g of Ériu Aran Traditions Yarn (Aran Weight, Approx. 180m/100g, 100% Romney Wool from Sheep Raised within Ireland via Ériu’s Farm to Yarn Network within Ireland) **Finished Garment Measurements** Length (Approximate): 160cm/63in Width (Approximate): 24cm/9.5in Buy any 2 patterns minimum from this designer and get 20% off your purchase.
