Gingham Garden Socks

The Gingham Garden Socks are your new favorite pair of gingham socks: perfect for a summer picnic or by a cozy fire. This is a great introduction to all over colorwork socks, featuring an easy-to-memorize 8-stitch colorwork pattern, working two colors at once. This pattern is worked top down, starting with the ribbing at the top of the sock, knitting the leg, working a short row heel, and then knitting the foot to finish with a solid colored toe, grafting together at the end with the kitchener stitch. Available in 3 sizes to fit a foot circumference of 19.5 – 21 (21.5 –23.5, 26-28) cm / 8 (9 ½, 10 ¾) inches. The finished circumference will be: 17.5 (21, 24.5) cm / 7 (8 ½, 9 ¾) inches. **Supplies:** **Yarn:** Fingering weight sock yarn. Any sock yarn will work! This is a great opportunity to play with colors & use variegation in an interesting way. Red sample is knit in Explorer Knits Denali Sock in Heirloom & Strawberry Swirl **Needles:** US 2/2.75 mm for Ribbing, Heels & Toe US 3/3.25 mm for colorwork **PLEASE NOTE:** I tend to knit colorwork very tight & need to size up my needles as a result. Several of my testers knit theirs on US 1 for the ribbing & US 2 for colorwork. Please check your gauge! I knit my samples on 9" circular needles.
