Celtic Connections Cap

The Celtic Connections Cap was designed to give a nod to our Irish and Scots ancestors who uprooted their lives in the 1800’s to come here to clear the land and suffer great hardships to build new and better lives for their families on our Maritime shores. This cap is adorned with a modern version of a Celtic knot forming a band around the body of the hat. It has a rolled brim and on the top is a cute little “nub” that adds a little character and some whimsy. The sample in the picture is made with Briggs & Little Heritage wool, milled right here in New Brunswick, Canada. This pattern suits a confident beginner knitter. Techniques used are knit, purl, decreases, stranded colour work and knitting in the round.
