Prestige Pullover

The Prestige Pullover has a classic look but is comfortable for everyday wear. It’s the pullover that you didn’t know you needed. It is designed for variegated or marled yarn creating a beautiful eye-catching effect. Contrasting i-cord edges frame the garment perfectly. The pullover is worked top down in one piece in all over garter stitch. No sewing is required. It begins by knitting back and forth flat until the underarms are reached. Stitches are then picked for the front panels. Garter stitch is worked flat, increasing for the arm hole shaping and for the V-neck shaping simultaneously. Once the neck-shaping is complete, the two front panels are connected and the arm hole shaping continues until it reaches the underarm. The front and back pieces are joined and garter stitch resumes in the round, concluding with an i-cord bind-off edge in the contrast colour. Three quarter sleeves are worked separately starting with a “pick up and purl” technique. The work continues by doing garter stitch in the round and concluding with an i-cord bind-off using the contrast yarn. Finally, stitches are picked up for the V-neck and an i-cord bind-off is done using the contrasting yarn. **Sizes & measurements** XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL Fits a full bust circumference of 71 (76-81) 86-91.5 (96.5-101.5) 106.5-111.5 (117-122) 127-132 (137-142) 147-152 cm [28 (30-32) 34-36 (38-40) 42-44 (46-48) 50-52 (54-56) 58-60 ins]. This fitted garment is designed to have 0-2.5 cm (0-1 in) positive ease. Sizes XS, 3XL, and 4XL have not been test knitted. If you would like to knit one of these sizes and are willing to provide feedback on the pattern, send me a message through Ravelry and I will provide the pattern for free. **Gauge:** 22 sts x 39 rounds in garter st on needles 4mm (6 US) = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 ins) after wet blocking. As this pattern is worked in garter stitch, the gauge is quite tight. This will help reduce any stretching that might occur. **Materials** Recommended yarn: Main body: Manos del Uruguay Marla hand dyed DK. 251 m (274 yds) per 100 g (3.5 oz). 867 (973) 1181 (1427) 1468 (1529) 1624 (1800) 1929 m [948 (1065) 1292 (1560) 1604 (1673) 1777 (1968) 1968 yds]. The pictured pullover is done in the colourway Marino. Alternatively, any variegated dk yarn that gives you the recommended gauge will work. A non-variegated yarn works too but garter st looks especially elegant when worked in variegated yarns. I-cord edging: Berroco Vintage DK. 265 m (290 yds) per 100 g (3.5 oz). 84 m (91 yds). **Suggested needles:** Circular needles 4 mm (6 US) with a cord length of 80 cm (32 in) or 100cm (40 in). 4 mm (6 US) double pointed needles in the same size for i-cord edging and sleeves unless you use the Magic Loop technique. **Notions:** 4 stitch markers.
