Jackalope

Growing up in Montana, meant growing up with rodeos, cowboys, and a whole lot of Big Sky Country. This vest is an homage to my roots, to cowboys, to the Wild West, and the mythic antlered rabbit known as a Jackalope. Alafosslopi makes this a quick & warm knit. Whether you need to head to the rodeo, a themed party, or anywhere else, Jackalope is bound for whatever adventure you choose. The Jackalope is also a nod to my German last name Haesemeyer which means Rabbit Farmer/Person in German. Overall Construction: This vest is knit from the bottom up in pieces. The colorwork is knit intarsia style. The i-cord is picked up and knit after the garment is seamed. Measurements Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) [6, 7, 8, 9] Chest circumference: 34 (38, 42, 46, 50) [54, 58, 62, 66]” / 86.5 (96.5, 106.5, 117, 127) [137, 147.5, 157.5, 167.5] cm Needles: US 9 & 11 / 5.5 & 8.0 mm 24-32” / 60-80 cm circular needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Yarn Used: Alafosslopi (bulky, 100% wool; 109yds (100m) / 100g. Yardage MC: Black Sheep 250 (300, 365, 420, 470) [535, 605, 665, 805] yd / 230 (275, 335, 385, 430) [490, 555, 610, 740] m CC1: Beige Tweed 40 yd / 40 m CC2: Amber 30 yd / 30 m CC3: Ecru 15 yd / 15 m (most of the Ecru details were duplicate stitched onto the garment). Gauge: 13 sts and 19 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette knit flat, washed using US 11 / 8.0 mm needles.
