The Golden Hour Sweater is a modified drop shoulder with cabled details down the center, around the neck, around the armholes continued down the body's split sides, and optionally, at the cuffs. It is designed to have special accessibility features for those pregnant, nursing, post partum, menopausal, or needing loose fits around the stomach region due to scarring or medical aids.
The Golden Hour Sweater features a higher v neck line in order to keep little hands from giving the world a free show! The sleeves are wider fitted at the top, but shaped with short rows and slimmed out toward the bottom in order to keep a refined and out of the way look and feel.
I designed and graded this pattern to have drop shoulders based off of the crossback measurement instead of the waist circumference. This means that the finished garments per size will look the same when worn, but different lying flat. It is a method of grading that does not waste yarn and keeps the final fit as the priority.
The cabling in the center is a simple motif that is repeated on all of the split sides. The side splits are also neatly kept within a worked in i-cord edging. The 2x2 ribbing, while optional, brings an extra little detail. Even with all of these extra details, the overall project is not overwhelming as the majority of it is stockinette.
The sweater is worked beginning with a back neck cable strap that leads into the front panels. From there, the whole of the front is worked, then the back. After which, the sleeves are used to join the body panels and are worked in the round. The side splits are later seamed to the knitter's personal preference of coverage, giving the option of using a loose stitch in order to take out and change coverage at discretion.
SIZING:
Please see the size chart in photos for all details, but the pattern recommends 15-18 inches of positive ease. If you are between sizes, size down. Choose the size that reflects the amount of ease you'd feel most comfortable in.

This pattern, as always, is part of my sliding payment scale program. Being low income myself, it is important to make things as easy to access while also being fair to my labor hours. For these reasons, I have codes available to anyone who has any need for them. They are as follows:
Mama10, mama15, mama20 for 10, 15, and 20% off, respectively.
