This crochet bow pattern PDF helps you make a cute, striped, coquette hairbow, bag charm or accessory with clean lines to represent any Pride Month flag. Instructions include guidance on how to adapt the pattern to make most Pride flags that use horizontal stripes, including gay pride, lesbian pride, bi pride, trans pride, asexual pride, genderqueer, nonbinary and more.
You can also use this pattern to make solid or striped color bows of your choice, national flags with horizontal stripes, it is endlessly adaptable.
Also, if you hate weaving ends, this pattern is for you! Most ends will be completely hidden under the bow tie, with just 2 left to weave in!
You’ll receive: a 7-page, tested and professionally tech-edited crochet pattern PDF file with:
abbreviated, written instructions using US terms
a link to a step-by-step video tutorial
A link to the affordable rainbow yarn 12-pack featured in the pattern (but you can use any yarn you like)
Materials list for several different flag styles
Pattern notes and guidance for making the rainbow and several different flags
Gauge swatch (not important for this pattern, but provided, a finished hairbow in the yarn shown is 5.5 in wide and 3.5 in tall)
Skill level: Easy
This pattern uses multiple basic stitches and is worked in the round. The video tutorial will cover how to crochet in the back loops only and how to decrease (“hdc2tog”) in addition to the pattern steps.
You’ll need:
78 yards of Size 3 or 4 yarn total in your choice of colors (7 yards per stripe + tie)
US 7 / 4.5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Hair band, barrette, clip, safety pin or other fastener of choice for using your bow
4 stitch markers (optional, paper clips work just fine if you don’t have stitch markers)
This pattern is a great stashbuster, leftover yarn or craft market project, using <78 yards per bow and completed in around 2 hours. The yarn pack used was very affordable and provided enough yarn to make around 7-10+ Progress Pride hairbows.
