There has been at least one striped sweater in Julia Wilken’s wardrobe since her early teenage years, making it her ultimate feel-good garment. Worked with two strands of laceweight yarn held together, Ink’s fabric is light and airy, while the stripes not only add visual interest but also make counting rows and picking up stitches easier. A bright contrast colour at the collar adds a playful finishing touch. SIZES 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8) **Recommended ease:** 2" / 5 cm of positive ease. Suggestions for a sport-weight yarn are for example Okologisk Hverdagsuld by CaMaRose, Vovó by Rosa Pomar or Tibetan Cloud by mYak. **Needles:** US 4 / 3.5 mm 32–40" / 80–100 cm circular needle, US 2 / 2.75 mm 32–40" / 80–100 cm circular needles. **Notions:** Stitch markers, waste yarn for Provisional Cast-On and (optional) stitch holders. GAUGE 20 sts x 32 rows on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles in St St for body and sleeves, after blocking. 24 sts x 30 rows on US 2 / 2.75 mm needles in St St for hem and cuffs, after blocking. NOTES This striped sweater starts at the back of the shoulders with a Provisional Cast-On. Short rows on the shoulders form slightly sloping shoulders. The back is then split in two at the neck. The short rows continue while increases are worked for the front of the neckline. The stitches for the armholes are picked up along the armhole edge in a series of short rows. Stitches for the neckband are picked up along the edge of the neck and loosely cast off after a few rounds.
