This design was born out of love for broken rib stitches. A fascination with something bold and stately, combined with a sense of elegance and pure beauty. At the same time, the design remains simple: a playful interplay of knit and purl stitches. Always a pleasure. In my search for a name, I wanted to capture that same balance: a girl’s name that radiates both strength and refinement. A name with allure, one that aligns with the sturdy yet graceful character of this stitch pattern and design. GLORIA felt right immediately. A name that stands on its own, one that won’t be easily swayed. A touch of royalty, yet at the same time understated and thoughtful. This T-shirt is worked top down. First, the two shoulder pieces are knitted back and forth, each separately. From there, stitches are picked up along the shoulders to build both the back and the front. Both pieces are knitted back and forth, also separately. Next, the body is knitted in the round, just like the sleeves after picking up stitches along the armholes.
