This set includes **two** colourwork sock patterns, inspired by wild poppies growing in the fields in the early summer months. The instructions include two different types of heel pattern and three different colourwork charts (including a two colour, beginner friendly version of Poppy Power). Both patterns have been tech edited and all sizes test knitted. **Field of Poppies socks** Knit from the top down, starting with a ribbed cuff, these socks have a ribbed heel flap and gusset and a colourwork section of poppy flowers (growing in the field) on the leg. **Sizing** 1 (2, 3) To fit (foot circumference): 19-20.5 (21.5–23.5, 25.5–27.5) cm / 8 (9, 10½) inches Finished circumference: 17.5 (20, 24.5) cm / 7 (8, 9½) inches . Recommended ease: Approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) of negative ease. Further sizes can be achieved by going up or down a needle size. Leg/foot length can be easily adjusted. **Yarn** Yarn - Fingering weight sock yarn La Bien Aimee, BFL Tough sock yarn (75% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 25% Nylon/Polyamide), 425m (465 yds) per 100g Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used for this sock pattern, as long as you can obtain the same gauge. Shown in: MC: Lush (green). Approx 50 (60, 65) g, 212 (255, 276) m / 232 (279, 302) yds CC1: Glacier (light blue). Approx 20g, 85 m / 93 yds CC2: Coquelicot red). Approx 7g, 28m / 31 yds CC3: Black. Finished circumference: 17.5 (21, 24.5) cm / 7 (8 ½, 9 ¾) inches. Recommended ease: Approximately 2.5cm (1 inch) of negative ease. For your foot circumference, measure around the widest part of your foot (normally the ball of your foot, just before the start of your toes). Further sizes can be achieved by going up or down a needle size. Leg/foot length can be easily adjusted. See instructions for details. Sample shown is knit in size 2 for shoe size US 8.5 (EU 39, UK 6), foot circumference 22.5cm (8 ¾ inches). Important note: Do check your gauge for fitting. Further sizes can be achieved by going up or down needle sizes. **Gauge** 34 sts x 44 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for ribbing and stockinette. 34 sts x 36 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for colourwork. (This is the same gauge even though we are using a bigger needle size, because for myself and many other knitters, we often knit the colourwork sections tighter than stockinette. Please check your own gauge to see if this works for you).
