My daughter is just a girl who loves frogs, the inspiration for this cute frog sweater. Oversized fit, drop shoulder, with a seamless construction and smiling frog on the front. The sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round, before splitting at the underarm to work the back and front of the yoke separately, and rejoining at the shoulder with three needle bind off. You will then pick up sts for the sleeves and neckline and work these in the round. **Sizes** Pattern is designed to fit ages 6, 8, (10, 12) (14, 16) years. Finished sweater body circumference: 89.5, 94.5, (100, 105.5) (110.5, 116) cm / 35, 37, (39.5, 41.5) (43.5, 45.5) inches Check out the pattern photos for more information on the sizes. This sweater is designed for an oversized fit, with 15 to 30 cm (6 to 12 inches) positive ease around the chest. The model in the pattern photo is wearing the sweater with approximately 30 cm ease, for a super oversized fit. *Need some help working out your perfect size or sweater length? The pattern includes tips for sizing, including how to pick what size to make and how to adjust the body length.* **Yarn** I’m using my yarn stash to design fun patterns for me and my daughter, so I’ve used an assortment of yarns in this design. I held a strand of fingering (4ply) and lace (2ply) yarn together. A strand of DK (8ply) yarn can be substituted if you prefer. Feel free to try out different yarn weights to get gauge. Check out the pattern photos for more information on how much yarn is needed for each size. **Gauge** 19 sts x 24 rows per 10 cm / 4 inches on a 4.5mm (US7) needle **Needles** 4.5mm (US7) circular needle (80cm / 32 inches long) for body and sleeves 4.0mm (US6) circular needle (80cm / 32 inches long) for neckline, cuffs and hem **Notions** BOR marker, 2x removable markers, 2x markers for charts (optional) **Colourwork** Are you looking to try out different colourwork techniques? This pattern provides a great introduction to colourwork and you will end up with a cute sweater at the end that your kid will love. *The back and front panel, and sleeves include stripes, and the main frog chart is worked using intarsia. On the sample I worked the eyes and cheek blushes in stranded colourwork, but you can use intarsia if you prefer. If you find it easier, the smile and nostrils could be worked in duplicate stitch. The glimmer in the eyes is not part of the frog chart, these can be added as a couple of short embroidered stitches separately at the end.* *Working colourwork can sometimes be a little frustrating. Take your time and have fun with it. The frog chart is deliberately not symmetrical - if you make a minor mistake, you can probably get away with it, no one will notice. Remember, nature is not perfect, little mistakes will give your frog its own unique charm.*
