................................... MAYBELL SOCKS ................................... Throughout the month of May, the fields, gardens, parks, and forests of Donegal
transform into enchanted settings covered in a fragrant haze of periwinkle-blue.

The native Irish bluebells can be identified by their arc-like bowed stems, and heavy
down-pointed blossoms that literally resemble bells. Breathtaking in their appearance,
the bluebells stay with us for weeks and do not wilt. Rather, their edges grow more
frilled as they near the end of the season, and their centres swell. At the end, the blue
simply fades to green and the seeded bellies sink down into the grassy floor… to
hibernate, then birth a new generation the following May.

Featuring a simple eyelet rib motif that bears an uncanny resemblance to these
magical flowers, the Maybell Socks are ready to enchant you - as you both knit and
wear them. Ideal for summer sandals and open-heel clogs. ................................... MATERIALS & INFORMATION

You can make both versions of the design for two quite different looks based on the same motif. ................................... THE INTEGRATED HEEL METHOD This pattern features the Integrated Heel method of construction, which looks similar to the traditional heel flap ad gusset, but is worked mainly in the round. The Maybell Sock pattern instructions are sufficient to work the Integrated Heel if you are new to this method. However, if you are interested in a more in-depth guide to the Integrated Heel, a ‘vanilla sock’ pattern introducing this method is available here: [Basic Sock with Integrated Heel](/patterns/library/basic-sock-with-integrated-heel) ................................... The Maybell Socks are part of the [Lazy Lacy Summer Sock Club](/patterns/sources/lazy-lacy-summer-sock-club) Thank you and enjoy!
