**Measurements:** Adult (slouch, beanie) width (lying flat) of 28 cm Child width (lying flat) of 24 cm **Materials:** Worsted Weight Yarn, < 1 skein each of Loops and Threads (Soft Classic, 198 g) in Aqua (face / main colour), Black (eyes / outline / border), Bright Red (eyes / ball), Off white (eyes / ball) #1 double pointed needles 4.0 mm (size 6) double pointed needles #2 double pointed needles 4.5 mm (size 7) double pointed needles #3 double pointed needles 5.0 mm (size 8) double pointed needles Tapestry Needle 4” faux fur pompom (optional) **Gauge:** Using the #2 (4.5 mm) size needles: 17 stitches and 24 rows make a 10 cm (3.9 inch) square. Stranding in this hat requires running the unused yarn behind your work. Make sure to keep these runs relaxed, or the hat will be too tight. I strongly suggest checking your gauge throughout your work, especially once you get to the 3-strand rows where the red in the eyes is worked.
