Stitches are then worked for the back, shaped with gradual increases for the armholes, while neat i-cord edges are maintained along both sides. Once the back is complete, the front is joined to the straps and worked flat in the same manner, with increases for armhole shaping and matching i-cord edges. At the underarm, the front and back are joined, and the body is continued in the round to the desired length. The hem is finished with a narrow ribbing for a subtle detail that helps prevent excessive curling.
