Worked from the top down, it features a relaxed silhouette with drop shoulders and voluminous sleeves, gently gathered at the cuffs and hem for a balanced shape. With its straightforward construction and minimal shaping, this sweater is an excellent introduction to brioche knitting in garment form, while still offering a refined and modern result.* > You automatically receive a 15% > discount if you purchase 2 or more > patterns from my Ravelry Shop at the > same time (i.e. in ONE transaction, > place them all in your cart before you > check out). The upper back yoke is first worked flat in 1×1 rib using two strands held together for added structure. Stitches are then divided to work each shoulder separately, still in rib. Once the shoulders are completed, front neck stitches are cast on and joined to the shoulder stitches to form the front upper yoke, which is then worked flat. From this point, the work transitions to one-color brioche stitch worked with a single strand, creating a soft and airy fabric. The front yoke is worked flat in rows to the underarm. Next, stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge of the upper back yoke to form the back yoke, which is worked flat in brioche stitch to the underarm. At the underarm, front and back stitches are joined and the body is worked in the round down to the hem. The sleeves are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round to the cuffs. The sweater features minimal shaping: body and sleeves are worked straight, with a decrease round at the cuffs. The silhouette is defined by transitioning from brioche stitch to 1×1 rib (worked with two strands) at the hem and cuffs, gently gathering the fabric. **Sizes** 1 (2, 3, 4) [5, 6, 7, 8] to fit chest circumference of 32 (36, 40, 44) [48, 52, 56, 60] " 81 (91, 102, 112) [122, 132, 142, 152] cm **Finished Measurements** Chest circumference: 47½ (51½, 55¼, 59) [63, 67, 71, 72¾] " 119 (128.5, 138, 148) [157.5, 167,177,182] cm * Recommended positive ease: 13-15"/30-38 cm * Sample shown is size 2 worn with 15” / 38 cm of positive ease **Materials** Lace weight yarn - approx. 1045 (1170, 1230, 1410) [1527, 1650, 1733, 1840] yds / 953 (1067, 1183, 1286) [1394, 1506, 1582, 1688 m or 5 (6, 6, 7) [7, 8, 8, 8] balls of DROPS Kid-Silk by Garnstudio (75% Goat - Mohair, 25% Silk; 25 g = 230 yards / 210 meters) Azul Jeans (8) * US 2½ / 3 mm circular needles, 16" / 40 cm and 47"/120 cm or longer, to hold a large number of stitches If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain accurate gauge NOTE: Use needles one or two sizes smaller than usual to achieve nice stitch definition and balanced structure, as Brioche fabric naturally knits up looser * stitch marker, open coil marker, tapestry needle, stitch holder or scrap yarn **Gauge** 16.5 sts and 44 worked rows = 4"/10 cm in Broiche Rib, blocked NOTE: in Broiche Stitch, each visible elongated stitch in a column of knit stitches represents two rows (2 worked rows = 1 counted row) **Pattern Difficulty** Adventurous beginner/Intermediate **Skills Required** Long-Tail cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, working in the round, picking up stitches [1]: https://mailchi.mp/ad24644a15d2/katytricotknits
