Continuing my fascination with designing garments in different directions, I wanted to pull together elements that exaggerate the look that only a sweater knit sideways can achieve. This pullover is knit from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff in one piece, then folded and seamed under the sleeves and sides. It accompanies the article, Designing Sideways Sweaters, in the Summer 2026 issue of Cast On. Inspired by Nemours Estate, the cables and patterns are designed to mimic the twisting vines of their gardens.
