Linette Lace Top

**About the Pattern** The Linette sweater is a lightweight mesh sweater that’s easy to modify and doesn’t use too much yarn. It works well in hot weather on its own or layered over another shirt/sweater with its open mesh-like lace design. The lace pattern is simple and can be modified to be even simpler, making it pretty approachable for those inexperienced with lace work. The shape is also simple and adjustable, with the base being a simple raglan - it’s easy to change the sleeve length or body fit. **Sizing:** This pattern is positive ease and the fit and stretch can vary quite a lot depending on the yarn you select (a viscose will stretch quite a bit, compared to a merino). Many of the test editors reported sizing down, since then the sizing has been adjusted to reflect this. The pattern is currently available in sizes 1-4, for chest sizes 28 - 40". If you fall in between two of these measurements, you can size down for a smaller garment or size up for a looser fit. **Gauge:** Approximately 26-28 stitches per 10 cm / 4” on 3 mm needles. For the lace a gauge is hard to measure as it can be very stretchy and difficult to measure, but try and maintain a similar tension as to achieve 23-24 stitches per 10 cm / 4” on 4mm needles in stockinette. **Needles:** * 3 mm needles (for the neck and ribbing), 9/12/16” 3 mm circular needles, or 3 mm DPNs. * 4 mm circular needles (for the body) - a longer circular needle length may be useful for the body. **Yarn:** Please note the amount of yarn used may vary depending on the sleeve and torso lengths you choose for your sweater. For a short sleeve sweater approximately 8” in length below the underarms, approximately, 700-900 yards will be needed for sizes 1-2 and for sizes 3-4, we estimate ~1000-1200 yards based on test garments. **Important Note** This pattern was not tech edited and is being shared for free so that people can try it out. I have made two test garments and have made my best effort to make sure that the pattern is accurate and without errors, but its possible there may be mistakes.
