It can be pulled up over the chin for extra warmth or worn lower around the neck, with the pointed front filling in the gap left by a jacket, or shifted to the side for a more relaxed look. The cowl begins at a single point and increases smoothly to full width, avoiding a bulky cast on. Once joined in the round, it’s worked for just under 4 inches to create a closefitting shape. A grid-like, textured stitch adds quiet interest without competing with the yarn, while slipped-stitch edges keep the fabric neat. The join is marked by a column of ribbing at the back, and a tubular bind off provides a clean, polished finish.
