The pattern now includes a separate cast-on tutorial—and instructions for a second, extra-small version of the wool container. Check out the other [Wool Vessel designs][1], too! Knit and felt a surprisingly satisfying wool mini-container! The round shape is elegant and the fulled/felted visual texture makes it weirdly cozy. It’s designed to be used either alone as a basic decorative container or—and this really specific context is what I had in mind originally—employed as a slipcover for small plant pots. The eyelet motifs are both a good visual *and* intended allow for easy modding—you can add a cord to hang the finished piece up or or just weave in some ribbon or yarn for contrast. Small details are structural, even if they’re subtle after the fulling process, with a strategic shaping seam and some reinforcing linen stitch. **Materials:** * 112-120 yards of Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool, or similar feltable yarn—main sample shown in Oatmeal * One 16" circular needle in US7-8/4.5-5.0mm, or size needed for gauge * 1 set of DPNs in size needed for gauge * tapestry needle for weaving in ends Optional, but good for hand-fulling/felting , * dishwashing or nitrile gloves * basin or sink * very hot water * little bit of dishwashing soap * old cotton bath towel (good for blocking too!) **Gauge:** Gauge is 17 sts and 24 rounds over 4"/10cm of plain stockinette, worked in the round, and unblocked. Gauge is more important for yarn-estimates here; the fulling/felting step will have a major influence on the final size. **Measurements:** Pre-felting: 6"/15cm base diameter 7.25"/18cm height Post-felting, as shown: 6.5"/16.5cm base diameter 5.5"/14cm height [1]: https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/wool-vessels-i-7
