Cuddly Carrot

Crochet a cuddly carrot just in time to add into your little one's Easter basket! If you have a spare hour during a nap time or at the end of your day, you can most certainly whip up this veggie toy. This carrot is crocheted from the top to the tip, stuffing as you go. Once the carrot is closed off, you switch to your green yarn and add the carrot leaves. You can either embroider the face in a small amount of black yarn or string later, or use safety eyes. Please consider using safety eyes only if it will be used by a child older than 3 years. The beauty of this pattern is that there is no gauge. That means you are welcome to use any type of chenille yarn you like, and you will either get a larger carrot or smaller carrot if you use thicker or thinner yarn. Just make sure you use a crochet hook that is 3-4 mm smaller than whatever the hook recommendation is on the yarn label. For reference, I used Premier Parfait Chunky and a size 5.50 mm - I-9 crochet hook. The carrot I made was approximately 10 inches tall of just carrot, 15.5 inches tall including the leaves, and 9 inches around at it's widest part. I used approximately 30g/40y of orange yarn, and 7g/10y of green yarn to finish my carrot. I am so excited to see everyone's cozy and cuddly Easter carrots!
