Primrose Puff Sweater & Cardigan

**About** The Primrose Puff Sweater & Cardigan is a vintage-inspired design featuring puff sleeves and a contiguous shoulder construction. The cardigan features a delicate lace and cabled motif, whilst the sweater has two stranded colorwork. Both garments are started with stitches that are cast on for the back and shaped with German Short Rows. Stitches are then picked up for each front which are also shaped using German Short Rows for a comfortable fit. New stitches are cast on to form the subtle puff sleeves. Then, the neckline is shaped with increases. For the sweater, the yoke is worked in the round while the sleeves continue to be shaped. The cardigan yoke is shaped in the same manner, but worked flat. Then, the yoke is shaped with increases for the armhole after which the sleeves are separated from the body. For the sweater, the body is worked in the round with two-color stranded colorwork and finished neatly with a 2x2 ribbed hem. The cardigan is worked flat and finished with 1x1 ribbed hem. The sleeves are worked in the round and feature the same colorwork motif for the sweater. The cuff is finished with a rapid increases to complete the puff sleeve. Next, a double knit button band is added to each front of the cardigan. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline and finished with matching ribbing to the sweater / cardigan. The sweater neckline is framed with a delicate contrast color border for a polished touch. *Both garments involve a tiny amount of seaming of the shoulders to create the gathered puff sleeve.
