Knit a light spring bandana from soft singles-construction merino—this .PDF makes one size, with a simple welted ridge pattern and interesting multidirectional shaping to enjoy. The cowl neck is more fitted on this one, but the bandana part is still generous. The sample is knit from Uschitita Yarn Merino Singles in Grounded; I like how this single-ply yarn behaves in a welted pattern. **Materials:** * ~250 yards of fingering-weight single ply merino yarn; the sample is shown in Uschitita Merino Singles in Grounded * 1 16" circular needles in US3/3.25mm, or size needed for gauge * tapestry needle for weaving in ends * 2+ removable stitch markers **Gauge:** Gauge is 22 sts and 42 rows over 4"/10cm of pattern as written, worked flat and blocked. Please be sure to check your gauge. **Measurements:** This bandana is 16"/41cm deep and 9.75"/25cm across, measured flat. This is a close-fitting neckwarmer. One size fits most average adults. For a less-fitted version, easily make it larger by adding pattern repeats (and adjusting your stitch counts to reflect them).
