The pattern is easily adaptable to any size and yarn weight due to the 4 stitch pattern repeat. Play around to see what suits you best.** I made the sample slightly tight for a beanie-like look with the brim folded, but if you want a more slouchy look, simply wear it without the folded brim. The hat is fully reversible, and begins with a textured brim over four stitches before it evolves into a right-leaning swirling texture which is subtle on the knit side and becomes a perfect canvas on the purl side to show off beautifully that one skein of semisolid, speckled or striped indie dyed yarn in your stash. I dived into [Cecelia Campochiaro][1]'s universe when she first published Sequence Knitting, resulting in the [Sita][2] hat, and I recently plunged into her newest book Reversible Knitting. Her comprehensive exploration of patterns made with simple techniques is so inspiring, and I wanted to make a combination between the two this time around, resulting in a hat using both reversible knitting and sequence knitting. **Yarn used for samples:** 1 skein The Hare & The Crow Jinbaori Worsted Woollen (250m/100g) 100% woollen spun, non-superwash merino col. Anabaena, Other yarn suggestions: 1 skein De Rerum Natura Gilliat (250m/100g) 100% woollen spun non-superwash merino, or 1 skein La Rustique Les Laines de Margot (253m/100g) worsted-spun 80% Tarasconnaise d'Ariège 10% Romane agnelle et 10% Mérinos du Gard, or approx. 60 (70)g /150 (176) m of an equivalent soft woollen spun non-superwash yarn. Your knitting tension and personal changes with the pattern might require more yarn. **Needles:** 4.00 mm circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge. 40cm or 80cm cable. Marker, tapestry needle. **Size:** 54 (56) cm circumference. The hat is originally made for a fitted beanie look. For a roomier hat, you can either knit it longer before the decreases for a slouchy look, or choose to knit a size up to wear it folded and well down your ears. **Gauge:** 20 st and 30 rows on 10x10 cm.
