Pirin Snowsport Helmet Cover

The helmet cover is one size to fit an adult snow sport helmet. The pattern includes instructions to make the base helmet cover and an option to add either rabbit ears or frog eyes. The helmet cover starts by working in a circle while making increases on selected rows. The front of the helmet is lengthened using the DC stitch along the front with stitch markers placed to determine the sides of the helmet. Reductions are made on the back of the hat to taper the back to fit the helmet. The yarn is cut and reattached to work back and forth on the sides and back of the hat. To finish, increases are made on either side of the face to create triangular flaps which are joined together on the final round. The helmet hat can be put on like a hood and pulled up over the helmet. Each animal design is created separately and sewn on as described.
