Spring rejuvenation is here, but there is still a chill in the air. Craft yourself a little something to keep the chill off the neck and shoulders. Sweet little cables encase your neck in a snug cowl and travel along the lines to create a poncho. Pattern Notes: * Worked in the round, top down. * Once cowl is made, you’ll work circular yoke reases o The increases radiate throughout the yoke o You’ll divide the yoke into 6 sections. 5 of them will be divided by 2/2 LC cables and one will be the traditional triangular shawl spine * Once the body is long enough, the increases will slow and you’ll only increase at the spine * Multiple wear options: o Wear the point on either the front or the back o Pull it down to wear it like a poncho o Or, pull it up to drape softly like a cowl o Or, if you’re feeling peppy, wear the point draped over one of your shoulders Yarn Miss Babs Laurel Falls (100% Superwash Shaniko Merino Wool; 300 yds [275 m]/100 g): Color Rainforest, 2 skeins. Needle/Hook Size US 5 (3.75mm) needles, 40" (100cm) circulars Or size needed to obtain gauge Gauge 21 sts and 34 rows = 4" [10cm] in St st Size Cowl 24” circumference at bottom 20” depth from base of cowl to bottom of V 14” depth from base of cowl to bottom of straight section Notions Tapestry needle, 7 stitch markers (1 beg of rnd; 1 central marker, 5 cable markers), cable needle (optional).
