Mermaid Dog Sweater

ABOUT THIS PATTERN This pattern is for a mermaid dog sweater! The sweater can be adjusted to any size by following the modifications in the pattern. This sweater pattern has optional instructions to leave a hole for your dog’s harness clip, making it easy to attach their leash. The sweater is crocheted from the bottom to the top, starting with the tail, then the body, then the shell bra band, then the rest of the body, then the collar. The tail fin is crocheted separately and structured using wire. The bra straps are crocheted separately and sewn in place. The shell bra cups are crocheted separately, stuffed, and then sewn on to the body. Disclaimer: Please supervise your dog while they’re wearing their mermaid dog sweater to prevent injury. SKILL LEVEL Intermediate: this pattern uses a variety of stitches, including crocodile, spider, and puff stitch. The tail fin is wired. SIZE The original pattern is for a medium-sized dog, but there are instructions to modify the pattern to any sized dog. MATERIALS * 2.5 mm hook * 3.5 mm hook * 1 skein of Hobbii Cotton Kings Twirls in Indigolite (or any Sport weight gradient yarn cake for the mermaid tail) * 1 skein of Loops & Threads Woolike in Lavender (or any other Sport weight yarn for the shell bra) * 1 skein of Mainstays Lollipop in the colour of your dog (or any other thin fuzzy yarn for the fur sections) * Scraps of sport weight yarn in a variety of colours for the highlight scales * Green Cloth 18 gauge stem wire (this can be found in the floral section of your craft store) * Polyfill
