Rebel Laser Loon

The Rebel Loon has become a symbol of the power of community and mutual aid in Minnesota; this pattern adds a nod to the popular "laser loon" meme made popular during the state's flag redesign campaign. This pattern is suitable as a wall hanging, table decor, pillow motif, or could be incorporated into a larger mosaic project. Test pattern made with Worsted weight (4) yarn and 4.5mm hook. Unblocked sizing is 14"x15". Ch. 57 to begin. Any yarn weight and hook size will work to size the finished piece up or down. Pattern leaves the edge fringe. An envelope border is optional. Recommended yarn amounts: 3 185yd skeins of white (Color A) and 2 185yd skeins of black (Color B). The red laser is surface slip stitched or embroidered after the main pattern is complete. If you want to leave out the laser, simply replace the SC stitch with appropriate SC or DC according to row.
