The SUZIE Sweater is a simple pullover with dropped shoulders - a versatile piece that is easy to combine and perfect for all seasons. The sweater is worked seamlessly top-down. First, the neckline is shaped using short rows (working back and forth), while at the same time increases are made on the right and left sides of the shoulder section for the front and back parts. Then the work is continued in the round and increases are made for the sleeves and body. Once the increases are complete, the work is divided and the body and sleeves are finished separately. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline for the neckline border, which is worked in ribbing, just like the ribbed cuffs on the sleeves and the ribbed bottom border on the body. Techniques used: German Short Rows, left- and right leaning increases and decreases, binding off according to the ‚Italian BO Method‘. **Sizes** XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) To fit chest circumference: 76-81 (82-89) 90-97 (98-105) 106-115 (116-125) 126-136 cm / 30-32 (33-35) 36-38 (38-41) 42-45 (46-49) 50-54” **Measurments** Chest circumference: 96 (102) 109 (116) 125 (135) 146 cm /38 (40) 43 (45.5) 49 (53) 57” Total length: 50 (52) 54 (56) 58 (60) 63 cm / 19.7 (20.5) 21.3 (22) 23 (23.6) 25” The sweater must have a positive ease of approx. 10 - 15 cm in relation to the body. For larger sizes, slightly less positive ease is recommended. For example, if you have a chest measurement of 95 cm, you should knit size M. With a height of 1.76 m and a chest circumference of 89 cm, I wear this sweater in size S. **Yarn** Single stranded: 200-225 (225) 250-275 (275) 300 (350) 375 g ‚Como‘ by Lamana (100 % Pure Wool; 120 m/25 g), here col. ‚Navy‘ or 450 (500) 550-600 (600-650) 700 (800) 850 g ‚Lovely Merino Treat‘ by Rosy Green Wool (100 % Pure Wool; 200 m/100 g), here col. ‚Rotbuche‘. The ‘Lovely Merino Treat’ quality is only sold in quantities of 100 g, so the amount of yarn used here had to be rounded up in some cases. Double stranded: 250 (250) 300 (350) 350 (400) 400 g ‚Baby Merino‘ by Pascuali (100 % Pure Wool; 220 m/50 g) together with 125 (125) 150 (175) 175 (200) 200 g ‚Manada‘ by Pascuali (45 % Mohair, 25 % Silk, 15 % Pure Wool, 15 % Yak; 200 m/25 g). TIPS FOR CHOOSING YARN The instructions recommend several yarn qualities; here are a few words about them: ‚Como’ is a so-called ‚superlight’ yarn. Despite a length of 120 m per 25 g, this yarn has the properties of a DK yarn. This makes the sweater light as a feather and airy. ‚Lovely Merino Treat’ is a pure, wonderfully soft merino yarn. It makes the sweater slightly heavier and more flowing. ‚Baby Merino‘ + ‚Manada’ is a thin merino yarn combined with a mohair yarn. This makes the sweater beautifully fluffy and light. **Needles** 40-50 cm / 16-20” and 80 -100 cm / 32-40” circular needles size 4.0 mm (US 6/UK 8) 40-50 cm / 16-20” circular needle size 3.0 mm (US 2.5/UK 11) (for neckline border and sleeve cuffs), 80 -100 cm / 32-40” circular needle size 3.0 mm (US 2.5/UK 11) (for bottom border) and if necessary, a set of dpns size 3.0 mm (US 2.5/UK 11) (for sleeve cuffs). Those who use the ‚Magic Loop Method‘, don’t need a short circ. ndl or a set of dpns. **Gauge / Tension** In St st using ndl size 4.0 mm: 21 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm, measured after washing. Adjust needle size if necessary, to obtain the right gauge/tension. For example, I knitted the Lovely Merino Treat yarn using ndl size 3.75 mm (US 5/UK 9) to achieve the correct gauge. I maintained ndl size 3.0 mm (US 2.5/UK 11) for the ribbed borders. **Notions** Tapestry needle, stitch markers, contrast colored yarn (lifeline).
