Earthbound

**Earthbound** is a striped, set-in sleeve, crew neck sweater that is out of this world. It is designed to be a perfectly versatile garment that is great to wear next-to-skin or as a layering piece. The stripes are carefully designed to line up in across the body and sleeves. An exception is an intentional bit of contrast at the top of the shoulder which visually broadens the shoulder. First, the back is worked flat with shaped shoulders, after the back yoke panel is shaped., the front yoke panels are picked up directly along the back panel. The crew neck is then shaped and the front panels continue through the underarm. After this, the body is worked in-the-round through the hem. The sleeve cap is picked up around the armholes and shaped using short rows and then worked in-the-round to the cuff. **Earthbound** includes 20 sizes with a finished chest circumference of 32” to 70” (81.5 to 178 cm). This pattern also features gender-inclusive sizing. For each of these 20 sizes, two sizes are graded based on shoulder widths, which is one of the primary ways bodies proportionally vary for those with the same chest size. This means there are 40 unique sizes in this pattern. Choose to make the Narrow Shoulder size if the recipient finds that the shoulders on womenswear garments fits them well or the shoulders of menswear garments are too wide.
