All of my patterns are #SizeInclusive through a 60" full chest. This pattern also includes instructions for chest darts, and modification instructions for longer arms, since wingspan is predetermined by cast-on.
**Sizes (XS, S, M)[L, 1X, 2X]{3X, 4X, 5X} to fit chest measurement of:**
(28, 32, 36)[40, 44, 48]{52, 56, 60}"
(71, 81.5, 91.5)[101.5, 112, 122]{132, 142, 152.5}cm
**Garment Full Chest Measurement:**
(40, 44, 48)[52, 56, 60]{64, 68, 72}"
(101.5, 112, 122)[132, 142, 152.5]{162.5, 172.5, 183}cm
This top is designed with 10-12”/25-30.5cm of positive ease at the full chest for a very relaxed fit. Add 10-12”/25-30.5cm to your full chest measurement and choose the closest garment full chest measurement size. There is lots of room to size down in this style, too, so do that if you prefer something a little more fitted.
**Suggested Yarn**
The Lamb & Kid Birdie
(74% Alpaca/26% Silk, 328 yds/50g, Fingering Weight, Antique colorway)
Please use any yarn that is accessible to you with which you can achieve gauge. Though I used a Suri/Silk blend, this would also look beautiful in a variety of fibers including merino, cotton, silk, or linen.
**Suggested Needles**
Main: US 9 (5.5mm) 32”-40” circular needles, plus preferred needles for small circumference knitting
Ribbing: US 7 (4.5mm) 32”-40” circular needles, plus preferred needles for small circumference knitting
**Gauge**
16 sts & 20 rows / 4”(10cm), stockinette flat & in the round, blocked
**Yarn Requirements**
(700, 750, 800)[850, 900, 975]{1050, 1175, 1275} yds
(640, 686, 731)[777, 823, 891]{960, 1074, 1165} m
**Materials**
stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders, spare circular needle, spare main body needle for 3nbo, cable needle (hem,) darning needle, removable stitch marker
**Techniques**
knitting in the round, German short rows, three-needle bind-off, i-cord, blocking
**Construction**
Piece is knit from the top down. Entire wingspan is cast on for back, and short rows are worked to shape neckline & shoulders simultaneously. Next, straight stockinette is worked until half cuff circumference is reached at edge of work, then short rows are worked to shape lower sleeve and remaining back. Back sts are held. Front sts are picked up from original cast-on and shaped same as back. Front and back panel are joined at each underarm with three-needle bind-off, creating the sleeves, while body stitches are held in same row. Remaining body sts are worked to complete length of sweater with twisted rib hem.
