Cluaran Socks

These socks are a complementary design to the Cluaran Sweater, a Scottish inspired design in collaboration with Gingersnap Yarns. **Construction** These socks are knit cuff down, increasing stitches and changing needle size for the colourwork to accommodate the less stretchy fabric of stranded knitting. I start with a US1 (2.25 mm) needle and increase to a US1½ (2.5 mm) for the colourwork. The heel is a slipped-stitch heel flap and the toe is grafted together. **Sizing** 1 (2, 3) Sizing is listed in circumference. To determine your size, measure around the ball of your foot just below your toes. Choose the size that allows approximately 1-inch (2.5 cm) for the non stranded sections of socks.
