Brittle Wind Capelet

This capelet sits snug and sure beneath your coat against the brittle winter wind. This little capelet is worked from the bottom up, beginning with twisted stitch ribbing. Stockinette is worked over the arms and chest, with decreases at the shoulders before the neck is completed by a cozy collar of twisted stitch ribbing. **Skills and Techniques:** -Casting on and binding off in the round -Knitting in the round with circular needles or DPNs -Twisted stitch ribbing -K2tog -Turn and wrap 1 stitch using German short row turn and wrap.* *The German short row technique is used to flip the wip and reverse the knitting direction to work actively on the WS just before the collar is worked. However, no short rows will be worked. This is done so that when the neck is folded over, the twisted stitch ribbing is displayed on the RS. You will need the amounts listed below for **each yarn**: 384 (442, 508, 584, 672) (772, 888, 1021, 1175) yards or 351 (404, 465, 534, 615) (706, 812, 934, 1074) meters **Gauge** 15 stitches and 25 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm on larger needles in stockinette in the round after blocking 22 stitches and 29 rounds= 4 inches/10 cm on smaller needles in twisted stich ribbing in the round after blocking Circumference below is the total circumference around the bust and arms.
