Heart Bookmark

This is a crochet pattern and a video tutorial for a simple heart, Valentine's Day bookmark, worked with hook size D (3.25 mm) and 100% mercerized cotton yarn category 2. Specifically I used YarnArt Begonia. Another option is 100% mercerized cotton thread size 3. The finished bookmark is about 12.5 inches long with a tassel and about 1.5 inch wide at widest part of the heart. This is a great project for using up small amounts of yarn — perfect as a gift or to add a handmade touch to your own books. You can also use this little heart in many ways—as a bookmark, of course, but also to decorate gift packages, tuck into cards, embellish sachets or linen bags, or as an appliqué on pillows or other projects. It’s a versatile and fun piece to crochet, with lots of possibilities. The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology.
