Apple Hood

The Apple Hood is worked seamlessly in one piece from the crown to the tips. It is worked flat, back and forth in garter stitch, and it features a lovely i-cord border. It uses a clever twist of a classic sock technique to create an entirely seamless project- which is a total joy to knit! The scallop shape of the borders is created by repeating a set of three distinct sections. First, you work a set of increases, then a second set of rows at the center of the scallop, and finally a set of decreases. You can choose between two tip sizes: a smaller size that lets you wrap the tips once around your neck, and a larger size that lets you wrap them twice. **SIZES** Hood depth: 25 (25) cm. **YARN** 4 (6) skeins of Alpakka Ull by Sandnes Garn (100 m/50 gr; composition: 65% alpaca, 35% merino) The burgundy sample is knit in the colorway 4371 Dyp Burgunder. Or 400 (550 m) m of worsted-weight yarn. **GAUGE** 17 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm in garter stitch with gauge-sized needle, blocked. **NEEDLES** — 5 mm circular (or needle size to obtain gauge). **NOTIONS** Blocking tools, markers, a darning needle, scissors and a tape measure. A row counter might come in handy.
