Magpie

One for Sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold! If you do knit six, let me know how it goes! ! Yes - it's a magpie - Feb's Freebee and the first of the year. Mine is knitted on very fine needles (1.8mm) which surprisedly I found really easy to knit with (thought I'd struggle - eyes, age etc - but no!) Knitted up Magpie measures, from tip of tail to tip of beak, approx. 19cm/ 7.5in; 10cm/ 4in tall Half-life sized, so if you want to knit a life-sized one I'd recommend maybe a 4-ply or sport-weight on 3.5mm As with all of my patterns: . Knitted flat . Plenty of images throughout . it's modular so bits joined as you go with pick up stitches . short row shaping ...
