Franklin Sweater

The Franklin Sweater is a top-down sweater named for Rosalind Franklin, the mother of DNA. The saddle shoulder construction allows the double helix to travel seamlessly from the collar to the cuffs of the arm. The body of the sweater is covered in DNA-themed motifs including more double helices, chromosomes, and Xs. The saddle shoulders and boxy fit ensure that this sweater fits people of all genders and builds and the pattern allows for customization in the length of the body and the arms, ensuring a perfect fit! The sweater can be knit in either a worsted or aran weight yarn. You can likely hit gauge with either. Testers used a variety of worsted weight yarns and were all able to meet the gauge of 20 stitches and 26 rows in 4" of the texture. This pattern has been tested in all sizes and fits an upper bust measurement of 30–60" / 76–152 cm. **Sizing** 1, 2, 3, (4, 5, 6) *Finished Garment Chest Circumference* 40, 45, 50, (55, 60, 65)" / 102, 114, 127, (140, 152, 165) cm *Recommended Ease* Approximately 5-10” / 13–25 cm of positive ease from upper bust measurement. Measuring from the upper bust rather than the full bust ensures that you get a good fit in the rest of the sweater. If you have a large bust-to-rib ratio, expect little or negative ease at the largest part of the bust. If you prefer more ease at the bust and don't mind a looser fit throughout, consider sizing up. **Yardage** 1150, 1300, 1400, (1500, 1600, 1700) yards / 1050, 1190, 1280, (1370, 1460, 1550) meters Testers used a wide range of yardages because the sweater is so easily modified for different lengths. If you like cropped sweaters, you may need less yarn.
