Stranded Axolotl Beanie

A stranded colorwork beanie with axolotls swimming among water plants. It can be worked in 2 or 3 colors. Knitted in the round this is an intermediate pattern if you already know how to knit stranded colorwork and this pattern assumes that you do know how. If you have not knitted stranded colorwork before then this is an experienced level pattern. It is also experienced level if you decide to knit it in 3 colors. Instructions are given for head sizes 21” (53 cm), 22” (56 cm) and 23” (58 cm). These correspond to small, medium and large adult sizes. Fingering weight yarn. MC: (background color) CC1: (axolotl color) Note: CC in the instructions refers to either CC1 or CC2, your choice. CC2: (plants color) CC2 is optional. You can use CC1 in its place. Yarn amounts are just a rough guide as amounts used depend on which sections are done with which colors.
