Shurrab Qassira

**This pattern was available as a gift only to my [newsletter subscribers][1] and will be free to them in perpetuity, available for public purchase in a year.** Shurrab are socks. Qassira means short. These short little socks are quick to knit and the faux cables help them stay on at least as well as any socks do on little, kicky babies. You can knit a pair of these in a day or two, and make as many as you like! These are perfect for mini-skeins of fingering yarn, too. Each pair uses 75 yards or less. If you have baby showers or grandbabies coming soon, you can make several pairs in a *short* time. **Materials:** approximately 65 (70, 75) yards / 60 (65, 70) meters fingering yarn samples knit with Quantum Entanglement Vacay (85% Merino, 15% Nylon) - (437 yards / 400 meters, 3.53 ounces / 100 grams per skein) in Bottom, Charm, Lavender Fields, and Blue Lagoon Newborn - US 1 (2.25 mm) needles (or size to achieve gauge), in preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the round 3 - 6 months - US 2 (2.75 mm) needles (or size to achieve gauge), in preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the round 6 - 12 months - US 2.5 (3.0 mm) needles (or size to achieve gauge), in preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the round **Gauge:** Newborn - 44 stitches and 48 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in the round, on size 1 (2.25 mm) needles, over Faux Cable Twist, unblocked 3 - 6 months - 40 stitches and 44 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in the round, on size 2 (2.75 mm) needles, over Faux Cable Twist, unblocked 6 - 12 months - 36 stitches and 42 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in the round, on size 2.5 (3.0 mm) needles, over Faux Cable Twist, unblocked **Finished Measurements:** approximately 3 (3.5, 4) inches / 7.5 (9, 10) cm in foot circumference approximately 3.75 (4.25, 4.75) inches / 9.5 (11, 12) cm in foot length **Skills Required:** Knitting in the round, working twisted stitches, decreasing, grafting.
